Photography Q+A's!

How many weddings will you photograph on the day of my wedding?
One! I promise to only photograph one wedding per date as I believe my whole attention should be focused on you; and I understand that events take longer than expected.

How long have you been photographing weddings? Did you study it?
I have been photographing weddings professionally for the last five years! I am a graduate from the Algonquin College Photography program with a diploma in photography.  Though the course is completed, I am constantly attending workshops and keeping up to date with current styles.   I have also been accepted into the Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada team!

When should I book my wedding?
I would recommend booking your wedding photographer at least one year in advance; as I am photographing over 30 weddings a season- I tend to book up about a year and a half prior to the event!

What is your style of photography?
My style of photography is very editorial.  When I’m photographing weddings, I try to maintain a story throughout the entire day, so your gallery flows nicely.  My photographs are very light, clean and vibrant.  When photographing any type of session, I try to keep everything light, fun and romantic!

You only have your ‘favourite’ wedding photographs in your wedding portfolio—is there anywhere that I can see a completed wedding from start to finish?
As I have so many wedding photographs, I try to only post my favourite shots on my wedding portfolio so I am not overwhelming anyone.  If you would like to view my completed wedding galleries, please click here!

How would you to describe your working style?
When photographing a wedding, I try to blend in with the crowd while taking charge as well.  During your reception, I will blend in with the crowd and socialize with them as much as I can! I am a very outgoing photographer who loves to know everyone’s story and capture them having lots of fun. With this being said, during your bridal+family+bride/groom shots, I will take charge and tell you absolutely everything that you need to know.  I will instruct you the entire time so you never have those pesky ‘awkward hands’! Though, if there is a shot you MUST have, or a shot you DO NOT want to do, that it totally okay! It is your big day, not mine!

I love your style of photography, but you’re a little out of my budget/you’re already booked?
Not a problem!  I try to help out as many couples as I can.  For a discounted package rate, I will send one of my professional second photographers to come photograph your wedding, but leave the editing up to me- to maintain my style of work! My second photographers are trained professionals who have studied photography and have been shooting with myself for 3 years.  Your package will still include the complimentary engagement session and full printing rights as well!

Have you shot at my venue before?
As I am photographing weddings every weekend during the summer season, I can almost guarantee that I have been to your venue! If I have not, I promise to check out the property so I have an idea what to expect as per the lighting.

Is photography your full time job?
Yes! I am lucky enough to be working a job that I absolutely LOVE! Photography is my full time job and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  As I’m photographing at least one wedding per weekend, my weekdays are spent editing.

What is your “Wedding of The Week” tab?
My Wedding of The Week portfolio is a completed gallery of my latest wedding! It will change every week during the summer to keep you up to date on my latest work.

What makes your work distinct?
I believe my work stands out from the rest as I have a very consistent style throughout my galleries. I edit my photographs in a way so your skin tones stand out with a very light + airy colour tones. I believe wedding photographs should be bright and fun, rather dark and high contrasted.

How long will it take to receive my completed gallery and how will I get them?
Wedding galleries are expected to take 3-5 weeks of post production and they will be delivered to you on a personalized wedding USB. I will also put together an online gallery on my website for your friends + family to view and purchase prints as well!

Your packages include printing rights, what does that mean?
By getting the printing rights, it means that you are given the rights to print a limited size of images. Though I do give you the printing rights to print your images wherever you’d like, I also provide professional printing services for those who want their photographs printed in a professional manner. This is recommend as they will be edited specifically for print and colour matched to exactly how they were edited.

How much will my deposit be and do you offer payment plans?
In order to book your wedding photography with me, a 40% non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your date.  The remaining balance will be put into payment installments (seasonally) around $200.00, so you are not constantly giving large amounts. If you prefer to pay in larger amounts, that is also okay.  We will come up with a payment plan that best suits your needs!
