2018 Engagement Sessions Wrap Up!!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again {and by once, I mean every season}. My favourite part about recapping last years engagement sessions, is introducing you to this seasons brides! When I tried to narrow down my favourite images from 50+ sessions, I was able to get it down to 280. WHAT?! That must of meant my couples killllllllllled it! Don’t worry, for the sake of you making it to the end of this blog before tomorrow, I narrowed it down even further! ;)

Now, lets start with the reason we’re all here. The engagement ring! The gift we give when we want to spend forever with someone.

Bride + grooms are great but… have you seen their dogs?! I LOVE when my couples bring their super special family member along with them, because they make the cutest prop!

You know what’s a good excuse to pop Champagne? Literally anything in my eyes, ha! But do you know whats a REALLY good reason to pop the champs?! Celebrating that you’ve officially completed your engagement session, and you are one step closer to the big day! Even if it’s the middle of winter, doing a cheers over hot cocoa is also a great idea!

Even though I provide all of my couples with an Engagement Style Guide, that includes a list of location recommendations, I LOVE when the couple suggests one of their favourite spots! Whether if it’s the special spot where they got engaged, a location they spend their weekends exploring, the local marina, or the beach. Some of my favourite locations were Downtown Ottawa, Lake Ontario in Kingston, the Gatineau Hills, THE MOUNTAINS in Banff?! and backyards!

I find theres no “right” time of the year for your engagement session! Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter all of their perks of beauty, and plus, it’s about you! It’s about capturing your love for one another, and the time of the year will just emphasize that! :)

I never want to push people outside of their boundaries, but any #chelseamasonbride knows that sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get the shot! Shoutout to the couples who ran through the water {in may!!}, ran through the pouring rain, tip toed on a beach full of rock, and showed up in their fave sports jersey!
