A Sweet Summer Evening At The Arboretum in Ottawa

Well hello there, Gaby + Anders! Aren’t they the most adorable couple ever?!? These two love birds said they hit it off right away and that their attraction was instant… and I believe it! I could totally feel such a strong connection between these two during our session.

Like everyone else in Ottawa, Gaby and Anders wedding plans were affected by the COVID-19 restrictions. They had to postpone their originally scheduled July wedding to next summer. However, once guidelines opened back up, they were very quick to find a 2020 date! They REALLY wanted to get married, regardless of how it looked!

Anders proposed on a gorgeous beach in Costa Rica, but since he left the ring at home, Gaby didn’t believe that he was serious! He had to reassure her over and over again that he meant it! These two love to go on walks, hikes, and runs with their sweet dog Aizen, so naturally, he had to make an appearance too!

They chose this location because they wanted somewhere they could spend a lot of time with Aizen! They told me they had walked through the Ottawa arboretum many times, but never really saw the beauty in it for a photoshoot location until they saw my photography magic! As an Ottawa wedding photographer, I love the arboretum as it has so many hidden gem locations within it. Between the ample amounts of bridges, pathways, flower patches and occasional sunflowers, there are so many gorgeous shoot locations here.

Even though Gaby + Anders were very nervous when they arrived, because they felt like had no idea what they were doing, they quickly realized they could trust me and the amount of FUN they were in for! We all LOVED our time together. After Gaby received their photos, she immediately emailed me and said: “OMG! OMG Chelsea! These are the most beautiful pictures I’ve ever seen!! You’re a true artist! We LOVE them!”. I feel the exact same, girl! Thank you for showing me some beauty in this crazy year 2020 has given us!
