Katie + Matt Engagement Session || Gatineau Hills, Quebec
A Couple + A Drink (or four)
I’m so excited to finally share this session from last year. Katie and Matt are an adorable couple and I was honoured to spend this time with them documenting their love and celebrating their recent engagement.
Both Katie and Matt were born and raised in Calgary, but recently moved to Ottawa, Ontario. It was a treat to hear more about their relationship and their love story while we shot photos and meandered around this beautiful property! This shoot was at Mackenzie King Estates in Gatineau Hills in Quebec. It was such a lovely day and the lighting was perfect for turning out incredible photos.
Since fall hardly exists in Southern Alberta, we wanted to take advantage of some beautiful backdrops for this engagement session. Ottawa gets such gorgeous fall foliage if you can catch it during the short window! This Mackenzie King Estates property was the best option for a stunning, landscaped park that would have some beautiful settings for photo opportunities during our session.
Katie and Matt are set to elope in Canmore, Alberta early next year. I’ll be traveling with them and couldn’t be more excited! I’m not only eager to shoot their wedding, but also excited simply to be in Canmore because it’s probably one of my favourite places in the entire world! Truly, you’d have to go a long way to convince me that anything could be better than a mountain wedding in the winter in Alberta.
While getting to know Katie and Matt better during our shoot, I learned that they love to travel, go on walks, and their ideal date or outing is to hit up a patio for a drink (or four!) and then go to a cafe for a coffee. I love the connection they have and definitely resonate with their connection over quality time spent together.
