Throwback To A Sweet Spring Engagement Session!

Spring and summer 2017 have been absolutely filled to the brim with some of the best engagement sessions! As an Ottawa wedding photographer, one of the best parts of my job is to get to know a couple before their wedding day and photograph an important part of their love story. It’s just the best to be able to work with a couple in a laid-back and more intimate environment (and to get to choose the best backdrops!) and help them warm up to the camera before their wedding days.

Andrew and Jessica’s Lemoine Point engagement session was no exception! I met Andrew when he was a groomsman in one of my weddings last year (shout out to Dan and Deanna!), and I know Jessica from my childhood. Our grandparents had trailers besides each other at a campground that I would visit every summer, so it was extra special to be able to reconnect with her for this session.

There was something just so magical about this session; even though Lemoine Park had recently flooded from all of the rain, we still made the session work! I love the soft greens and willow trees everywhere, and they looked perfect in their neutral outfits amidst all of the beautiful fields.

Another component that made this shoot extra special is that sweet baby, Owen! They just had him and of course wanted to include him in their first set of family photos, since he plays such an important part of their lives now. He was such a champ during the whole shoot and showed off with the best giggles and grins!

Jessica and Andrew are so perfect for each other, and their love is infectious. Our evening together was absolutely perfect, with a gorgeous sunset that made all of the greenery glow. These two are getting married in February 2018, which is right when I’ll be having a sweet baby of my own! So although I can’t be a part of their big day, I’m so glad I was able to photograph their engagement session and wish them all the happiness in the world!
