The first year of your marriage goes by in such a blur. Most couples get the typical engagements taken prior to the wedding, and often a bridal/formal shoot or two, then the wedding day, and then that’s it. Your love story doesn’t end after the honeymoon! Documenting your continuing love in an anniversary session is a special way to capture your lasting relationship so you can reflect back years later and remember the happiness of that special time.

These two had their hearts set on an outdoorsy shoot, in Ottawa, and it turned out so beautifully. I love it when my couples make their photos unique and personal! Then, to put the icing on the cake, the session ended up happening on Mev’s birthday. What better reason to get all dressed up and celebrate than engagement photos with the love of your life on your birthday?!

The elopement took place in Nova Scotia where they had a little ceremony on the beach. However, they still wanted to take engagement photos! But this time, I literally just had to walk out my back door and into this session. I really love the fields behind my house and I was so glad to be able to shoot a couple there! Ottawa summers are really some kind of magic. We had a beautiful night walking around private, wildflower-filled fields.

I actually grew up on the Rideau, just a few minutes from her family cottage via boat, so this session was right up my alley! We spent most of our time together down by the lakes on the dock. We all love being by the water so it just made sense!

Read MoreEveryone, meet Broc and Brittany! They are some of the kindest, most fun people I’ve had the pleasure of working with! I really loved getting to know them and being able to capture their fun personalities! Truthfully, they made my job so easy. I’m so lucky to work with such awesome clients. Broc and Brittany have such a cute love story! They met at the Heart and Crown in Barrhaven. Brittany says that Broc caught her eye because he was dancing with an older lady while her husband was off dancing. It instantly melted Brittany’s heart!

These two have both been competitively drag racing since they were very young (he was 6 when he started and she was 13!) and sort of knew each other off and on through the competitions. During the 2018 racing, they quickly hit it off and fell madly in love with one another.
